The Window Seat

Been in an Airplane before? Yeah, I sure do love those seats by the window, or what the airline thinks is a window. I love them.

Especially when I've gotta use the bathroom during travel, how about that situation huh?
You look to your side and you've got this look that says "I'm so sorry, I don't know what I was thinking. Would you please?"
Now considering if the people to your side actually obliged to move, they do it two different ways and either way, you're gonna end up apologizing to them like you actually owe them a kidney for what they're just doing.

Number 1: They step out into the isle for you to leave (with the gracious sigh of hesitation of course) and you step out smiling like an idiot, followed by 400 'sorry's.

Number 2: The move back into their seats and you're left wriggling your way through that path they have oh so graciously offered you, and it's more 'sorry's this time because you know you're gonna step on some feet.

About 600 'sorry's later, you're finally in the bathroom, it takes you two seconds, you come back out, back to your seat and what do you know,

It's time for those 'sorry's and 'pardon's again!
That's why it's always so hard, getting anything done on airplanes. This is because to the airline people you're nothing but cargo.
"Sir don't you think the seats and the bathrooms and everything is a little too small?"
"No! We're shippin' 'em out, might as well put them in a box"

You know you can actually see a return address under the tail?

I'm just kidding. But they're having a laugh huh?

The "Thus Far"

Coming to realization of what life really was so far,
there are no quotes, there is no chosen person for ultimate victoriousness.
There's just individual satisfaction of what they've amounted to so far. You don't like where you are, start working, start thinking about what you could do to make yourself happy; if you think you've done enough, relax, watch some TV, eat some crackers.

Now I'm not saying pursue any of your fancies that may actually cause the downfall of someone, but I do forgive you of an innocent action from your part was actually a smaller stimulus to a grander scheme.

But is there really a grander scheme to anything really? I mean the idea of this grand scheme is something we assist with and something we bring into effect, with our choices and our will. But one could argue that the choices a person makes represents who they have been throughout their life.

That's why I'm fascinated by film makers and philosophers. They actually try to find out what this arena we've been dropped into is all about, what is our purpose? Why does an auditor have to go about his routine day in and out and still not be satisfied with where he is. Well you decided! No one forced you to become an Auditor, so your bad life is really all on you.

That's why I hate those other group of film makers who try to promote every aspect of every falsification of identity, the life of a lawyer for example, I mean this man has to get involved in conflict brought upon by the plaintiff maybe based off of some bad choice he (we'll call him 'plainty') would've made along the way, but deception is a cunning little hound; who can you trust then? Why is there deception? It just may have risen out of jealousy.

The point though is, it's the lawyer's choice that has gotten him thus far, and yet we see him, bitching about all the hardships that entails his choice of career. Careers, pft! The definition of a sound human being, not kindness, not consideration, not analytical skills, but career. You're a good man if you're fast thinking and on your toes and working in a deli, but ultimately you're a much better man if your background reads an expensive degree and a series of high paying jobs that you feel lukewarm about and you still have the same amount of intelligence about what meaning the life you're leading has.

Maybe that's why people fancy movies so much, they see this question of what reality is and they turn to the side and say "Boy, these guys are just hilarious, thinking they know what life is all about, I tell you now, eight hour slaving and stress all the live long day and coming back to a wife that cheats on me and a son that questions his sexuality, that's the perfect a/an *insert LABEL* should lead!" Oh there's obviously the fight for feminism that all these men say they're all for.
Are you kidding me? Do you really think they actually care? Do you really think anybody cares about anybody else other than themselves, no! If anybody had to pick you over them, they'd pick themselves in a heartbeat, but, BUT if there is a chance they're gonna be glorified or proudly spoken of to millions and millions of people, suddenly they're donating to charities, helping old people across the streets and sail the seven seas, it's just for you to KNOW that they actually did these things. I mean name one time you did a good thing supposedly and don't talk about it. How you maybe graciously let that woman into the shopping complex before entering yourself, and then came back to criticise the world around you for not being as gracious and selfless as you are. And the very next day, you turn around and cease the opportunity to top somebody, I mean if you're so gracious and generous, why not let that other person have the job? No you need the job, you need that outlook, to hide who you really are to yourself; a cloak, if you will, you NEED people to say "God damn man, what you do for a living makes me wanna envy you so much that I am gonna tell all my friends about how much I envy you and secretly think you're the ultimate being there ever did set foot on the land"
Then follows a life of complaining and active deflection of all the problems that may arise of actually having that big social outlook, upon any other person that may show even the littlest involvement in your sad and pathetic choice of a life.

Well if anything I am a fucking hypocrite. Yes I am, yes I am. And I'll tell you why, because of this environment I can CLEARLY say, I am being smart and blending with the crowd huh? A chameleon you'd say huh? NO! No, I'm gonna be this hypocrite that tells you these amazing little quirks you have in just how you lead your lives! Free of charge! *Bwahahaha* Yeah right. No you'll be seeing my movies. Like a great man once said 'Thank you all for giving me this beautiful world,  with all its quirks that I'll admire and present!' Although, I'm just gonna sit by and be the hypocrite while you stab each other in the backs over why you think you should just live in a dome for the rest of eternity. But I'd be rich, so jog on.

Your favorite filmmaker, Surya.

Dredd: Review

Yes folks, it's time for another McNuggets Review. This time we take on a more cunning, a more violent, a more... disturbing-yet-laudable movie, Dredd adapted from strips off of the sci-fi comic anthology 2000 AD.

The premise is one we're almost familiar with so much that we can spell it out word to word to any passerby who's got the doubt.
The future, a semi-post-apocalyptic wasteland that is, United States of America (Cursed Earth) with only one organisation that fighting for justice going by the name The Hall of Judgement, the operatives termed Judges. The story focuses on Mega-City-One where a circulation of a drug called Slo-Mo that alters the user's perception of reality i.e. it makes everything go in slow-motion. Violence prevails all over with crime rates smashing the roof. One of the Judges (Dredd played by Karl Urban) takes responsibility into his own hands to take down the gang-lord Madelaine Madrigal, nicknamed "Ma-Ma" (Lena Headey), along with an attractive lady side-kick Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) of course.

Dredd is incredible on the visuals, be it the fight sequences to even the gruesome murdering of innocent slum-dwellers of the 200-storey Peach Trees block. Dredd takes note of the effects of the drug and uses it to its advantage with unexpected panache.

The recreation of the infamous Mega-City-One and Peach Trees block was brilliant. The amount of work that would have gone into bringing that monument to life.

However aside from that, the story or the way it is told isn't anything new or original (well it is an adaptation after all, but they could've gone with something that isn't as lackluster). Just your average superhero movie, glorifying the lead only following the more recent trend of using excessive blood and violence (not that I mind, I loved both of them). It almost seems as though they made the entire movie, JUST so they could show off their incredible SLO-MO, which however, is used in balance and is a delight to watch. I mean, WHO doesn't love a good extreme-slow-motion sequence!

The dialogues aren't very special (you can't go expecting something like Django from a rather lo-fi movie such as this). It doesn't provide you with memorable quotes that one would hope for like the "nigga moment" on The Boondocks. But, that doesn't mean that it was bad, they weren't special but it was enough, it sufficed.

The cast was brilliant, Karl Urban takes the cake on this one. He was meticulous and precise in portraying a "The Mirror" (Sylvia Plath)-esque character with Dredd. Judging all evil for what it is without any bias, true to the original. I could literally see the counterpart, the comic's Dredd in him. The rest of the cast well, they weren't as stand-out-ish enough, they were there and they did what they had to do. But as the title suggests, the movie is more a one-man show than anything.

All in all, Dredd is an excellent entertainer if that's what you're looking for. It will definitely leave you sitting with your mouth open and drooling in awe at the delicacies that it has to offer. Some parts of it might even remind you of the 2010 comedy-gore-fest Kick-Ass. If you liked that, then you will definitely be pleased with what you see on this movie.

7.9/10

The Delhi Rape - An Opinion

Well, it's one of those times of the years. You know, one of those times when the media just gets what it wants? The one story that helps them keep the show running and everybody else antagonized to such an extent that they have to be hosed off.

Yeah, the Delhi rape incident. It's good that you're showing how much you care people, but why NOW? What happened to this dedication and compassion when all the others before this happened? Are the victims of those crimes not to your tastes to support, to post statuses about, or to even post those god damn 'LIKE' pictures?!

Although, I agree there are anomalies to this. There are some people who genuinely feel compassionate and relate with the incident, who are sick and tired of these acts and want to do something about it. But all of that is lost in the myriad of sympathy-fakers and facadists.

To top it off the Media makes it all worse. They're slowly but surely trying to create a mass hatred of the Indian Government. People should understand that any upheld Law will have its fair share of Breakers. I've seen people posting messages about bringing Saudi laws to India, and they think that it would actually do good. Wrong. It might be an alternative for the time being, but soon enough people would find ways around it. Hell there are cases even in Saudi that people don't even know of. To put it simple, if you tell a kid that he can't have his candy, what is the first thing he does? (Now I'm gonna give you some time to let that sink in, answer the question in your mind a couple of times)

If such a law is enforced upon the people, it would tip the scales at an enormous magnitude. Right to the point where, a girl would have the power to accuse an innocent guy of rape, and his death forced upon him without even a trial. Where is the 'equality' that we were all trying for a while ago?
Now I'm not being sexist here, but if there are men who do wrong, then it is fair to motion that there are those in the opposite gender as well.

The decision that is to be made, should suffice for the short and the long run as well. But a death sentence is far too easy a way out for the perp, a second, is all it takes and he would hardly feel a thing. I believe that, a life-time of imprisonment and a rather 'un-sedated' extraction of their manhood would do a lot good than estimated. Allowing them to wallow in guilt as the rats they are and rot in the cold cells without a chance of seeing daylight. That's what we need right now. The sickest alternative there is.

You know, based on circumstantial evidence.

The New Track

Well after a long time of research and stuff, I finally got to composing my very own track. This one's influenced by a lot of the riff-driven stoner rock songs that I've been obsessed with for the past few months. Comment, Favorite or Download. What would you rate this track? Oh, and it's a Demo by the way, not the full track. That one's coming soon and it's gonna have a better production quality than this, there's only so much you can do with a 90 bucks (INR) Headset's Mic. Enjoy.

Finally, some clarity...

Well it's about freakin' time. Took me a while. But now, it's all clear. I know what it is to have a blog. Your thoughts, your opinions, everything is you at your blog.
It's like your own little Journal. But here you're not hiding it under your bed, or sticking it to the side of the drawer. Here, you put it out (the thoughts, no innuendos please! XD) for the whole world to know what you have a say, about anything.
