Well, there I was sitting and talking to my dad about my Ipod that got "stolen"....and we were suddenly talking about dreams and thoughts and the brain....
My dad is an extraordinary guy with theories that really convince you and this was one of 'em. He said, that a person's brain is like a PC...
It has it's RAM which is the right part of the brain, and the left part of the brain is like the HDD of a PC, so now...
He said that whatever you see when you're awake, the brain later while you're asleep takes all the things you have seen like "jpeg's" and processess them into the left "HDD" and when it's doing this it arranges them and when it is doing so, the images CLASH together creating mixed up thoughts, which we may think is a prediction of the future.
You could've seen someone riding a bike, and later in the day you would've seen a red apparel. The brain, when you are asleep processes all these images and they would eventually merge at one point when the brain is organising them. This gives the dream to the person as, maybe... a red day, everything is red and no other color is seen, with a blurred version of the person and the bike being ridden across a blurry version of the location the person had seen the former on.
Well? Does this convince you?
